Summer Reading Challenge

We want to encourage our students to continue to read over the summer to keep their brains active. We hope this Summer Reading Challenge will encourage them to read and knowing they will get a prize if they do will be the trick to keep them reading. If you have any questions about the summer reading program, please email [email protected] or call the school.

This year’s reading challenge has a Summer Camp Theme.  We challenge you to read at least one of the ways from each of the 4 wood sign groups on the map.  Be sure to write down on the back what book you read and which one of the signs it was for.  Then parent/guardian please sign the back and turn it in to your child’s teacher in August and they will receive a prize.  We will also select 3 top readers to receive bigger prizes.  We hope you will take on more than the minimal challenges as the summer progresses.  We will have to see if anyone can do all the challenges of the Summer Camp map.  A big shout out to Everyday Reading and Camp Castle for providing this reading challenge to us free!

We will also reward the classroom who had the most participation in the summer reading program with a snow cone party in August.  We hope that you will encourage your child(ren) to read this summer so they can earn prizes but more importantly, so they can maintain their reading level.
