Mrs. Duncan's Fifth Grade Science Class

During the school closure, I will be working from home.  I can be contacted through REMIND or you can email me ([email protected])
Exactly how "school" is going to function is still being figured out.  Information will be pushed out to you as soon as possible.
I hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.  Keep trying to learn something new every day and I hope to see you back at school soon.

I'm looking forward to a great school year!  My bachelor of science degree in education was received from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA in 1998.  I am an Army brat and my husband is retired from the military.  At the time I received my degree, we were stationed at Ft Benning, GA.  Since my husband is from Troutman, NC, we decided to make our home in NC on a small 16 acre farm.  Its a beautiful state and we are very happy here.  We have two sons, two daughters-in-law, one grandson and a future granddaughter come June.  Life is good.

In science class this year, we will be studying a wide variety of topics.  First quarter includes force and motion, matter, heat and the water cycle.  Second quarter will be all about weather.  Third quarter brings cells, the human body, ecosystems and genetics.  Fourth quarter will be used to finish up and review for the EOG in science.

Students keep a science notebook of their classwork and notes in the classroom.  They are welcome to bring it home whenever they like as long as they bring it back for class the next day.  Any tests given will be written in their student planner and date stamped by me.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
